My apologies in advance for not getting to this sooner. Something about a 3 day trip home to northern Indiana (5 with travel days), tends to make me fall even further behind. Well worth the brief time away from camp as I was home to see our oldest daughter Megan graduate high school and to retrieve Milissa and Sienna the Wonder Dog and head back to camp. It was an outstanding week in camp for guests who provided a lot of good reports on their successes throughout the week. None more successful or impressive than Gar’s crew again this year that boated over 1,600 walleye and northern pike AGAIN this year. That’s two consecutive years that these guys have caught over 1,600 fish during their week. One hundred and sixty three dozen minnows later they were ready to head back to Wisconsin. Yes, that is correct 163 dozen minnows!

Of course they weren’t the only successful group in camp last week as Randy’s crew from Wichita was here again and as always caught a bunch of fish and of everything from big walleyes, to pike, to over 70 smallies each day they targeted them. There was only one new crew in camp with us during the week and Gary’s party spent a lot of time casting for pike and smallies and found that very limited time was needed walleye fishing to catch the walleyes they wanted for supper. They enjoyed the camp and are planning to return next year.

In case you missed it on our Facebook page, we were able to complete the roadside dock prior to my departure back to Indiana. We were targeting to get it done opening week, but that little cold snap (snow) sort of knocked the ambition for the project out of the way. Despite the delay, it’s completed now, looks great and is much more structurally sound than the old dock which was absolutely battered by our high water most of last season.

Need to run for now, still trying to catch up from the few days away. Week three fishing has been excellent also and I hope to get caught up to the point that I have some photo’s to share.
