Perrault Falls

The Perrault Falls, Ontario area of NW Ontario is the home to over 130 lakes and 600,000 acres of pristine wilderness for your fishing, hunting, sightseeing and adventure enjoyment.  In 1999 the local Outfitters established The Cedar River Watershed Association Inc. Since then, we have been working together to protect and promote the land, lakes and wildlife.

Perrault Falls topography is unique in its surroundings. Geographically, the area is referred to as a watershed area. It is an ecosystem independent of the lakes and rivers outside the boundaries of its 600,000 acres. This system cycles the soil and minerals from the land using the watercourse and its tributaries. It is a dynamic and complex web of natural resources; soil, water, plants and animals. Each body of water in the Perrault Falls Area is responsible for sponsoring life throughout the ecosystem.

In the community of Perrault Falls, you will find a couple of general stores, liquor outlet, restaurant, post office, and historic points of interest.

The neighboring community of Ear Falls, just 20 miles north, provides more services including full grocery stores, restaurants, bars, laundry-mat, service stations etc. For those of you who want to slip in a game or two of golf, this 20 minute drive north will get you to a very nice and challenging 9 hole course.

A question often raised is the accessibility to medical facilities here in the north. We are fortunate to have an excellent medical clinic and ambulance service located just 20 minutes north at Ear Falls. Major hospitals are located either in Red Lake to the north or Dryden to the south, both 70 miles from Perrault Falls.

Peffley's Wilderness Camp is a family owned and operated camp. Dave has been fishing Wabaskang Lake for over 25 years and was previously a guest of this camp for 12 years prior to purchasing the camp in 2005. I am a proud supporter of our military and offer a nice discount during the month of July to our guests who have also served. I have three daughters ranging in ages from 16-21 who spend much of their summer with us in camp and have totally embraced the wilderness experience we offer. They have for years referred to it as the "best summer experience ever".

While rarely necessary on our lake, because I do have a very good working knowledge on how and where to fish on Wabaskang Lake and our portage waters, I will guide groups if asked to. Otherwise, I am always happy to share information with our guests and provide them well marked lake maps so they can start catching fish their first day in camp.

I pride myself on running a very clean and well managed camp with your satisfaction our top priority. Many guests who have fished from this camp for over 20 years, and several more that have fished here for over 30 years and even some over 40 years.
